Today, it is no longer a question of price or egg category but rather a question of availability of goods… almost no spot on the market!
Whether in cages (which is still the most sought after), on the ground or in the open air.
The smallest truck leaves without discussion. Our French industrialists are forced to import because of the lack of French goods and are driving up the prices of our European neighbours, who are then following suit.
Our customers are ready to commit themselves on the long term with contracts because this situation of shortage of goods is not ready to stop, the avian flu (which is still raging) and the cases of salmonella have really destabilized the market and the return of a normal production is not for tomorrow. Not to mention the fact that the scheduled culls have further reduced the supply and that the increases in feed are continuing, leaving farmers wondering how to renew their batches…
One question remains: how will our manufacturers manage to increase their prices in the face of this surge?

The same observation as in the industry, all goods are requested and solicited by our French conditoning centres with requests for more or less long term contracts. Our customers are afraid of running out of eggs over the next 6 months.
The cost price has now been reached but the announced feed increases have not all been passed on! Here too, the conditioning centres will have to revalue the sale prices to compensate for the market situation.
